I am being told two different things, and this is a big difference in having it repaird. Do I have to take off the timing belt in order to replace the water pump? They say my year of car 2001 2.2 liter is in side ways and you have to take off the timing belt in order to get to it.

thanks carol

2.2 no you dont. You have to remove the drive belt. A fairly easy job. The other engine is alot harder. I would not attempt it at home. Take it to a shop. But 2.2 is pretty easy
