1991 Chevy Caprice V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

About a year ago, My engine went after 250k miles. The fuel filter poped off and all the oil drained while I was driving. Well when the spring came I went to a junkyard and got a newish engine.(Possably a 5.7 unshure). The car runs good, but when it warms up it starts to stall. It only stalls under 30 mph and usially when I try to reverse or get stuck in traffic but sometimes in turns. I was told it was probably the Idle air valve so I removed that and cleaned it but it didnt help the problem. Is this most likely the problem and if so, How do I test the iac to make sure it works.

It could be that, a TPS, a vacuum leak. Has the check engine light ever come on?

If the light has come on, there is a trouble storred in the computer. Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket, and it should identify where the problem is coming from.

Let me know what you find.

Ive tried but they cant read the problem with the light off and the light goes off when I shut off the car. If I get it to come on again then ill have to run in with the car running. I did the test I read on here about iac valves and the piston on mine didnt move so.
