When I start my car, there is very loud tapping. After about 4 or 5 quick revs, the noise quiets down and I can drive my car. The oil pressure does go up to the 3/4 line.

If it's making noise when you first start and it goes away when it runs for a while it can be lifters or pistons. The lifters are pumping up and it actually doesn' thurt much if you can live with the nooise. Sometimes you can find a lifter additive that may clean them up enough to stop this, but alo tof times the stuff doesn't work, as the lifters have dirt in them. If it's the pistons, don't worry aobout it as it doesn't hurt anything, just makes some noise and that's about it. But ystuff like this you should have apro check it out and have him give you an opinion. It's hard to diagnose noises on the computer here without hearing it.
