What code do you have?

What do you mean by corresponding?

Cam sensor is common issue when the retard spec is out of spec. Most likely some other issue

I was just reitterating what the mechanic said. I took it that the cam sensor or cam was out of sync wh the crank sensor or crank.

Yes, common for cam retard code. It comes from either a bad sensor, wiped out distributor gear or a bad timing chain.

Do you have a scan tool that can read cam retard timing? This is required to start the process.
