I drive a 91 chevy S10 blazer my engine wont turn over unless I bang the gas tank is it just a fuel pump that needs to be changed

If you dont hear pump turn on till tank is banged on then either the connector on pump is loose/corroded or more likely the fuel pump is worn and the bang aligns the brushes and allows pump to spin
