So I got this one more problem with my diesel engine Nissan micra, I had some head wrok done on engine few weeks ago, it is summer time and car won't start if it remains parked for a day and night, it cranks and cranks and won't start until my dad comes and I pick up jumper cables and jump start the car, after I jump start the car and drive it for some distance it runs and starts normally for the rest of the day, when I park it for night and won't drive it next day, it's not gonna start the day afterwards until I jump start. What could be the problem, my mechanic is saying it is low on compression, will the car with low on compression start with jumper?

Good morning,

The fact you have to jump it tells me your battery is low. It can crank but not fast enough to start. Diesels need more cranking RPM to start.

You need to have the battery load tested to be sure is it not draining itself overnight.

The charging system needs to be checked as well.

Also, have your guy check for a draw while sitting overnight.

Thank you expert. I will get the battery tested tomorrow and accordingly let you know. Yes, the car cranks but won't start. Jump start is required after that, so it is not the low compression issue?

Not necessarily. If he thinks it is a compression issue, have him do a compression test on all the cylinders.
