Car stopped while driving, would only go in reverse

The car just randomly stopped on the highway and wouldn’t go in drive or any other gears just reverse. Before this the car would rev high and sounded like it was going to bog out when I was driving slow!

Good afternoon,

It sounds like something in the forward clutch section has failed. Since you have reverse, it is not the torque converter or front pump. The unit most likely will need to be removed and inspected for the failure.
