My car is stuck in park. I have bought a brake shift interlock solenoid thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't. I checked my brake lights. And everything seems to be working fine. And when I press down on the solenoid my car supposed to shift out of park. So I don't know what to do I just really need some advice on what the problem might be. I am not parked on a hill. I I have switched my car to on. And lifted the parking brake up and press down on the brake shift interlock and still nothing. I've been reading around the internet but I don't know what to do. Can you help me?

We don't show a 2012 escort so it may not be in US. But looking at one of the other small fords that is connected to the body module so the problem may be there. Have it scanned for codes by a mechanic. If this is a floor shift there may be an access panel on side or top to release it manually so it won't need to be towed.
