Engine cranks and shuts off immediately

I drove it to work the other morning and it drove fine but when I got ready to leave the car would crank up and cut off immediately afterwards. Check engine light doesn't come on. I initially thought it was fuel related because when I use to turn the key the fuel gauge would show how much gas I have but now when I turn the key the gas gauge doesn't move. I put in a new fuel pump and new spark plugs, but it's still cutting off. Does anyone know what it might be?

This sounds like a couple things but let's start with seeing if the theft light is on when you turn the key.

Basically, if the theft light does not turn off or flashes then we have a theft issue. Here is a guide that talks about this, but I attached more info about it below.

If the theft system is not the issue, then we need to move onto the next possible cause and that is the battery charge.

Lastly, this does sound like a fuel issue so we should check the fuel pressure just to make sure.

Once we know all this info, we will have a better idea which way to turn.
