Transmission not going into gear

Your first step should be to check your transmission fluid. Your owner's manual should give you detailed information including where to locate the fluid dipstick, as well as what fluid to add and how much. If there are puddles of reddish fluid under the car, your transmission is leaking and will need to be addressed by qualified mechanic. Next question: Is your check engine light illuminated? Could be an electronic component fouling up. If the light is illuminated, turn the car off and disconnect the battery for about thirty minutes. Reconnect the battery, start the car, and attempt to drive the car again. And finally, Does the car feel like maybe the brakes are locked up, or does it roll freely? Locked up brakes will prevent the car from moving. Hope this helps!

Unluckily for you, your car has the maintenance-free transmission. This means that it is a sealed unit, there is really no user-serviceable parts in it. So in order to solve your issue, you will have to tow the car to a mechanic or VW dealership. There is a fluid level check plug, but in order to access it, the car needs to be raised by a lift. Wish I could give better news!

Hmm, has anyone looked at the CV axles, I have seen them break at the CV joint and just spin not moving the car. I would jack the front of the car up so you can see each axle. Have a helper start the engine and put their foot on the brake and put it in gear the axles should not move if so the one moving is broken. Were there any codes when they scanned it? If not it sounds like the transmission needs to come out. I would try to find a used one. Here is a video that shows the process of removing the transmission on a similar car.
