1995 Cadillac Fleetwood Repair Question

No start
Engine Performance problem
1995 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic
To start with I am a Ford technician,not familiar with GM products.This car was running fine then died and won`t start.I did some preliminary checks.Getting no fire to the plugs.This is one of those systems where the distributor (if thats what its called) runs off the front of the engine,which I assume is connected directly to the camshaft.I`m not real sure where to start.Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I'm not sure if you are reffering to the coil packs. Your vehicle should be equiped with a modual that sits below the coil packs. If this modual is shorted out, it will result in no spark. Also, you might want to check your crankshaft positioning sensor and/or camshaft sensor. You might want to connect a diagnostic OB2 and see if there are any fault codes that come up.
