Engine Performance problem
1992 Buick Roadmaster V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

MY RPM HAND STARTS TO BOUNCE AROUND THEN THE CAR STARTS TO STUMBLE, SPUTTER AND BACKFIRE SHORTLY AFTER. PULLED THE TROUBLE CODE AND IT WAS A 41 SO THEN I REPLACED THE CONTROL MODULE THEN THE PROBLEM CAME RIGHT BACK. SO THEN I TOOK MY CAR TO GOODYEAR AND THEY SAID FIRST MY DISTRIBUTOR NEEDED+ TO BE REPLACED BUT THEN APON FURTHER INSPECTION THEY SAID I NEED A IGNITION MODULE SO I RUSHED OUT AND BOUGHT THAT AND HAD IT PUT ON AND ITS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME .

what did GOODYEAR have to say when the IGNITION MODULE didn't fix the problem?

you said you replaced the "control module" i would have expected that to be the same as the "ignition module"
cause it's normally called an "ignition control module"

are you saying that you know your pick up coil is bad?

if so then yes, you will want a new distributor,
or just replace the pickup coil if you trust yourself to disassemble the distributor and put it back together.
