Engine Performance problem
2002 Buick Rendezvous All Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Car stalls at various speeds or has no acceleration the code at Autozone read indicating a lean code and identified bank one oxygen sensor as being the most likely culprit. Then runs perfectly fine on restart. The mechanics at the place I had the car at for 4 days couldn't get it to stall and when we provided them with this info, they are saying that the oxygen sensor can not cause the stalling that it pretty much has to be a fuel pump issue. My question is can the oxygen sensor going bad result in stalling. I just paid for a total tune up, new alternator and now they want to put in a fuel pump. My husband just added a 3.99 can of fuel additive to clean the fuel injectors (just in case). Any suggestions?

The O2 sensor code is probably a result of the bad fuel pump. If the pump doesn't supply enough pressure or volume, the O2 sensor will set a lean exhaust code. Low fuel pressure will also cause the engine to hesitate and stall.
