I have a 1995 Buick Regal 106.000 miles V6.
I have just noticed recently (My Daughter noticed b4 me) that it sometimes will not start! I got in the other morning after it sitting all night turned the key and nothing!
The lights came on buzzers buzzed and everything thing seemed ok like usual but when I turned it to the start position nothing! Tryed over and over but nothing ! Shifted the gears to Rev, drive and neutral! Tryed again and nothing then after sitting there trying everything decided to try again and it started?
Then drove to the store then to the mailbox and turned off the car. Got back in and the same thing!
Anything is appreciated!
Thanks
Rick

You may want to start by checking the battery cables at the battery, there may be corrosion on them causing the problem, its a start anyway, if they are corroded clean them with a wire brush and put them back on and let us know what happens, I get an email when the post is replied to

thanks

No I tryed that! It something like a relay or switch of some kind!
It gives no indication that anything is wrong. When you turn the key it like everything is just fine but once you turn it to engage the starter there's nothing. Silence! No clicking like a soleniod or anything!
Thanks for the reply!

Ok now I am suspecting the ignition switch, if you have a test light you can probe some wires to see if there is power coming out of the switch when in the run position

let me know if you need help locating wires to probe

Do you have a test light? If so we need to go under the dash at the steering column, there should be a bulk connector right there you can pull and probe the upper portion for power when turning the cylinder, this is a little more involved but its a start, I dont want to overload you at one time

let me know

Have you tried swapping with a new battery yet,
battery might have enough juice to turn on dummy lights and stuff, but not enough to kick in the relay for the starter
battery could just have a dead cell or something,
had a friend with a van with the same prob, it was the first place to start, and it solved the prob, make no guarantees, just thought i'd pitch in my 2 cents
