1989 Buick Regal car wont start sometimes

It runs sometimes but then when it sits and I come back to start it it sounds like it wants to start but it dont I just had the plugs changed and a new coil put in and it ran good for a month do you have any ideas what it might be

You need to check fuel pressure but also you could have a bad coil or defective one. Also pull off the vacum line to the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is gas in there, if there is then replace it.

I had the same problem a few years back with my 89 Regal. The car would start fine one day, but the next morning it would only turn over and not start. After eliminating the fuel system and ignition system as the culprits (the same as you are doing) the problem was found to be the cam shaft sensor.
