Car makes a gear grinding noise and vibration while accelerating around right hand corners at residential speeds. There is no noise or vibration while coasting around same corners.

Inspect CV boots (outer) for rips/tears and grease leaking.
It is most likely a bad CV joint. This usually occurs when you run over some road deris and CV boot is torn and lubricant leaks out. The CV joint then gets water in it and causes the joint to wear prematurely.

You would have to replace the CV axle. While boot kits are available, it is far easier to replace the complete CV axle rather than the boot.
New CV axles usually run about $75. Labor will usually run around 2-3 hours.
