I am just wondering about my clutch. When I purchased my 1986 325e bmw, my clutch would have a wide range of play before I would release it to get my car moving. Now I have only a small amount to play with. So I was wondering if I can get away with a small replacement, or if it is better to just replace the whole thing. Also I havent replaced it in the three years I have owned it, so if it is time to replace anyways, then I will.

This vehicle is equipped with a hydraulic clutch, when you have lots of play, I am talking free play in the pedal there is most likely air in the system, when the clutch has no free play in the pedal at all that means the Clutch is wore out
