I just finished installing a new clutch. I bench bled the throw out bearing before I installed it. Now I have seen many people install a stopper on top of the brake fluid reservoir. I did that, my question is when I install the stopper on top with a hose in the middle and a vacuum pump, I pump the pedal several times the I release the air. Does the hose need to be immersed in the fluid when I pump the vacuum pump, or just on top of the fluid level?

Hi,

The hose does need to be immersed in the fluid. Otherwise, it will pull air back through when you release the vacuum.

If you look at the attachments below, they provide the procedure for bleeding specific to his vehicle. Take a look through them and let me know if they help.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, that is exactly what I did, but sometimes when it's immersed and I am pumping the vacuum some of the fluid shoots from the little opening in the vacuum, sometimes.

Hi,

Is it possibly an issue with the tool? Also, is the clutch working at all?

Okay, let me know if you get it working where you feel it's correct. Also, if you can video where the leak happens when bleeding and upload it for me to see, I may have a few suggestions.

Take care and let me know.
