Black smoke

My truck is putting out black smoke and I only took the spark plug wires off the distributor cap and it took me a while, but I think I have them in the right order what could the problem be?

Check fuel pressure with a gauge may be a regulator problem you will need an adapter for this so I do not know if auto parts have them or not to rent they do rent gauge. 9-11 psi.
