Whenever my truck goes up a hill or even during normal acceleration it feels like I am getting no power to the wheels and on certain hills it will backfire once. We have replaced the carburetor but I cannot figure out exactly what I need to replace to get this truck running right.

Check resistance of plug wires 5000 ohms per foot. May be that as well as low fuel pressure if a carburetor it should have at least 3.5 pounds and deliver about a half pint fuel in thirty seconds at carburetor.
