Brakes

I have a 1995 saturn SL2 with 145,000 miles, disc brakes all around. I was changing the brakes, and the rear are being very difficult. The front went on no problem, removed the calliper and reset the piston, but the rear piston won't go all the way back. I've broken 2 C-clamps trying to get it. I made sure the e brake was dis-engaged, but I just don't know what it could be. When I started the car it went in a little but not enough to put the new brakes on. The rear brakes work fine, so I don't believe they're locked up. Any advice would be greatly appricated. Thanks guys

It's not clear from the post, but did you open the bleeder valve?

First off, do you have the cap off the master cylinder in the engine compartment? You shouldn't need to open the bleeder valve and I really don't recommend it since it gives you a chance of getting water in the line.

Make sure the cap is off, get some WD40 and lube up inside the sleeve around the piston, then (prefferably in another vehicle :) ) go to autozone, and rent the brake piston tool, since when you return it they give you all your money back, and use that. It works so much better on calipers that are stuck or stiff than c-clamps.

Try this and if that doesn't work let us know and we'll go from there. Good luck.
