I have a 1994 olds cutlass supreme with 113, 00 miles on it. I was having problems with the brakes, where I would be at a light and the car would jump foward a little bit. I took it to the shop and they said that I snapped my abs line and that it was going to be $800 to fix this problem. I don't know much about cars so i'm sorry if this is a dumb question but do I have to have my ABS brakes and can I just get new brakes thats nothing fancy. I don't have the money to fix this but I need my car.
thanks

The Anti-lock brake system has brke fluid that runs in it and is tied into the mechanical brake system fluid. So you can't by-pass them, but you can get a second opinion from another shop however.
