My 95 Caravan 58,000 miles would not start after I inadvertently left the lights on. I jumped it and now it won't idle. Its never had a tune up and I'm still
running the original serpentine belt. Yeah, I live dangerously.

Thats some low miles for that year. Must be mostly short distance driviing. How does it start now after u drained battery? Now might be a good time to change it. MY 98 Ram would start but kept dieing out because of bad battery. When replaciing with new one first disconnect ground(black) cable then pos.(Red) cable to avoid any sparks. Clean ur cable ends up with wire brush then reinstall battery red cable then black.
Then might be a good time start some miner tuneups. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter. Put new belt on it. Has it been getting regular oil changes? Even lower milage cars can consume 1Q of oil within 3000 miles. Depending on what size motor it has. This van should last you a long time. So take care of it.
Thnks and good luck. Jess s.

I cleaned the throttle cable and played with it a little more and it ran fine. A neighbor of mine is a Mopar mechanic and he's gonna change the belt and a tuneup along with clean the idle sensor(?). Thanx for your reply. Oh, I do change the oil every 3000 miles and the majority of the miles on it are short distance.
I now just drive it to work (about 90 miles a week).
