We have 107k on the 1993 LeBaron GTC convertible. It was hit in the passenger headlight area recently and we pounded, stretched and pulled to straighten it out, replaced the sheet metal, etc. We had to disconnect the computer module located on passenger side of engine compartment (near the front on the side wall) during the repair job. Now that the car is back together, it won't upshift to the top gear. Is the shifting controlled by that computer module? If so, could the impact have damaged it so that it the car won't shift properly now? Or is there some shift linkage that might have become bent?
Thanks.

If you removed the computer, then you will have to get it scanned and reset.

The ECM doesn't have en influence on the described problem. Please go to a Chrysler dealer of a transmission specialist and let them read out the transmission error codes. It could be, that only the solenenoid doesn't work properly anymore, but usually, when the tranny doesn't switch over the 2nd gear, it is a serious problem with the tranny
