Friday evening I went to unlock my car door. My key went it but would not turn. The pop lock people came out and unlocked my door. Now the alarm keeps going off. I can’t get it to turn off because the key won’t turn in the door. But it works in the ignition and the car runs great. The key fob is broken. I changed the batteries and everything. I have new key fobs but I can’t program them while my car. Is in this anti theft mode? How do I get the alarm to reset? Do I have to replace the door cylinder and the ignition switch to have the same key or can I change just the ignition switch? Or is there another fix? I just don’t want to go buying a lot of parts and not need them.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Let's try an anti-theft, security system reset first. Here is the tutorial for a generic reset:

Get back to us after performing this and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
