Grease a 97
Suspension problem
1997 Acura RL 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 194000 miles
I have a sound coming from the passenger side by the control arm. Everytime i turn the wheel it makes this sound like metal on metal. i have read that it mite be a ball joint or a bushing. People have said that i can grease it with silicone grease. I can buy the grease gun , But my question is where do i start. or how do i do it. never have worked on my acura rl.
Or do you have any idea what it can be???
Thanks for you help,
Ray

Hi there,
The ball joints and tie rod ends are sealed units and are not greased, control arms use rubber or nolathane bushes, if there is a noise the suspension will have to be inspected for worn components and these will have to be replaced.
