Is the Torque converter sealed? How is the fluid in a torque converter changed? I don't have a flush machine, so I drain the transmission but wonder how long I should leave the drain to drip to impact the converter (if it even can).

Hi onxyl,

Yes, the torque converter is sealed and apart from removing it from the trans to dry out, the other options are to flush the fluids out, either with a machine or by starting the engine.

Draining would not get the fluid out of it. After draining, start the engine for a few seconds to flush the fluid out would be the closest you can get to flushing the system if you do not have any machine.
