I have a 1998 Acura Integra Ls automatic with 100,000 miles. I had the code checked at Auto Zone & it was P1706. Transmission range switch with probable causes 1- open circuit condition,.2- Failed transmission range switch. The car runs & shifts fine. Will there be any damage if I drive it around town for the next couple of days? I am leaving on Vacation this week and the car won't be driven for three weeks. Also is this a do-it-yourself repair or do I need to go to the dealer or a repair shop?

Hey fessel,
You should be fine till ya get back ..... and a DIY repair shouldn't be too terrible. But def. get the switch from Honda/acura, not aftermarket!
