AC compressor pulley/clutch assembly

Hi,

Due to misaligned v belt, the pulley/clutch assembly is completely perished. Please see attached photos. Is the compressor redeemable? I can get a new pulley/clutch assembly to install on the compressor. If it can be redeemed, can it be done without removing the compressor. Not sure how to remove what is left on the shaft.

Sorry that compressor is done. Here is a video of one getting changed out in a similar Mercedes and a guide on how to vacuum down and recharge the system:

The lines had a leak at the time so there is no gas left to be vacuumed. Once new one Installed I will have to get it properly vacuumed and refilled.
I thought the pulley/clutch assembly was replaceable. Would you please comment on this?
I will replace the compressor but just want to learn as well.
I have watched your video a few times. It is going to be a challenge for me. I was hoping that I could get away with just replacing the pulley assembly. But apparently not!
What brand would you recommend please?

There is no external clutch on this compressor because they use an internal valve control the refrigerant. The fact that it came apart is telling me the unit is locked up. Here is a Denso compressor for $344.00 ON Amazon:

Attached is partial view of AR83.55-P-7685B that gives instruction on just the pulley assembly. So this is what I am hoping to do.

Yes that will work if the compressor is not locked up. Can you spin the input shaft at all?

Good the compressor might be okay then. Can you see why the pulley fall apart bad bearing?

My dear mechanic did not install the V belt correctly, as soon as the engine was started there was a big noise in the engine compartment. The idler pulley and the AC pulley assembly were shattered in a split of second and the V belt was split in half longitudinally. The V belt must have been placed on the edge of the pulleys and not centered.
Nice careless job! The guy's my neighbour! First and last job he did for me.

There is a snap ring you will need to undo the get the pulley to slide off of the compressor but it is a machine fit so it will need to be tapped/pulled off. You have the images I have for removing the pulley send me picture of any trouble you run into so I can help walk you through it.
