Recently I had a pretty bad power steering leak that may have shorted out the ABS sensor. I noticed that it was wet and had planned to replace it on the weekend. When I got in it to go to work on Wednesday I noticed that the ABS light had went off on its own. My initial thought was that it had dried from the fluid. As I was pulling away from my home, the left front wheel/brake seemed like it applied on its own. There was also a light Whining sound. It would only stay for one or two seconds, but it was enough to bring the truck to a stop. I wanted to drive it down to the shop but I really do not want to risk damaging anything else. Am I correct in thinking that it is the sensor?

Hello, I am Danny.
Yes, it sounds like your brake sensor may have gotten contaminated/damaged from the power steering leak. Replacing the brake sensor is fairly easy once tire is off the ground and the wheel is removed. It is accessible from the backside and is mounted to the back of the spindle/hub assembly. I have attached a picture of what it looks like. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
