When in automatic and I need to accelerate to maintain speed going up hill, there is a loud bang coming from passenger side. Does not happen all the time and cannot reproduce at will. Normally it happens when down shifting 45-40 MPH or 65-60 MPH. If I drive back roads rarely happens, usually a highway issue. Taken to two dealerships and they cannot reproduce, and nothing shows up on scans. I am thinking it might be related to the transfer case. Suggestions?

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. Where in the vehicle is noise coming from, front, middle rear? I can help but I am going to need more information. It sounds like it could be a rear driveshaft coupler. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
