How do I remove the back seat of my car (XLE Model)? It has the reclining type of back seat. I already have the bottom cushion part removed. I need to remove the back part of the seat to get into the trunk to use the emergency lever to open it.

Never done it but here are the book steps and pictures. The last image almost makes it look like you still will not have access.

1 remove rear seat headrest assembly.
2 remove rear center seat headrest assembly.
3 remove rear seat back cover.

See Image 1

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the 2 rear seat back covers.
NOTICE:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

4 REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY LH

See Image 2

(a) Separate the 2 rear seat belts.
See Image 3

(b) Disengage the 3 clamps and then separate the cover.
See Image 4

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and separate type rear seat back assembly LH.

5 REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY RH
See Image 5

(a) Separate the rear seat belt.
See Image 6

(b) Disengage the 3 clamps and then separate the cover.
See Image 7

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and separate type rear seat back assembly RH.

6 REMOVE CENTER SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and center seat back assembly.
See Image 8

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, my Camry XLE back seat assembly does not look anything like the images you posted.

Do you have the reclining seat or the seat that folds down?
Is it the regular model or the Hybrid?

These are the two types the books show for the 2009 Camry XLE. Reclining, Folding or a fixed unit that does not move.

If yours is different could you take a couple pictures and we can try to match it or figure it out.

That would be the reclining seat that I included the instructions for. Those three are the only ones that show in the service literature I have. Fixed seat, fold down and recliner.
