2007 Saturn Ion Repair Question

Saturn Ion Tool Problem
My car ignition clicks sometimes before it starts and sometimes not. Does not register on the diagnotic machine. Is this a wiring problem. Is there still Saturn diagnostic machines around?

So are using a diyer scan tool ?does a scan tool p:ower up off the connector?

Does the security light ever come on when it doesn't start?
