Acadia manual liftgate latch malfunction

The liftgate would open on its own for about two weeks. Now it gets stuck and we can't open it at all. It is a manual liftgate with touchpad.

Check the liftgate switch and the latch assembly to include the object sensors

OK, I will check that. Is there a way to access adn open the latch from the inside? And how hard is it to replace the malfunctioning latch? Thanks

You gonna have to go thru the inside -Dunno how hard its gonna be, never done it-
