I noticed this morning that my 2007 chevy silverado back driver door had a substainal amount of water standing inside it. What causes this and is it covered by warranty? Once I opened and closed the door it started to drain out but this doesnt seem to be right.

Is the seal intact? Are there any tears in it or holes? You can use a dollar bill to check the seal on the door. Find the place where you think it might be leaking and close the door on a dollar bill (with part of it sticking out). If you can pull it out with the door closed, there's a problem with the seal. If you're not sure just do this all along the seal to check for loose fit. As for the warranty, that is dependent upon your warranty and if the problem is wear and tear issue. Good luck.

Dwb is on the right track. If water is entering the door, there is a leak somewhere. That leak is most likely in the door seal.
