I am buying a used car from the owner for $3000 a 2005 pontiac g6 and there is something wrong with the catalytic converter and it needs a coolant flush, the seller wants to sell the car to get something bigger, what I want to know is, is this a reasonable fix for the car and a decent buy.

As far as the rest of the car can't tell you there without inspecting the car. Having the cat replaced probably won't be cheap.I would have mechanic look the car over.

I understand. So how much do you think the cat converter fix would be? The car is in pretty good conditions as far as body and tires and interior goes but just those problems.
