I have Lumina s (V6) 2005. Check powertrain sign came on. The computer scan give the following code (camshaft position sensor overadvanced. Etc). Sometimes and when the car is cold and I start it, there is noise coming from the engine side (something stalling like (crrr crack.)). After that the car work but one time did not and I have to crank it again without any noise or problem. When the car is warm, there is no noise and the car starts normal. Please advise what could be the problem

Can you post the EXACT trouble code? Different scan tools have different description but the code would be universal.

I am not really sure but it could be P0012 or P0011.

I could not find any reference to both codes. You have to be specific and if information are not correct, we would not be able to diagnose the problem correctly.

I don't really remember the code but I remember the description which is ("A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2))
I hope this will help. If it is not then I will go back and do the scan again to get the code.
