800 ohms =.8 M Ohms?
1200 ohms = 1.2 M Ohms? Or.0012 M Ohms?
Now I am wondering if it is Milli or Mega. The meter just displays a capitol M. The only other scale is K (kilo?).

I have a range hold button, but not a scale selection button on my digital auto-ranging multimeter. The reading is what it is, 13.15 M Ohms

I understand we were looking for an open circuit, but perhaps the way out of scale reading suggests it is 'going bad' but not yet a completely open circuit?

I found an online sale at a part store where I can save $50 off the dealership price and avoid eBay.

Sorry, but as I stated it is an AUTO-RANGING digital meter, I do not have the option of which scale it reads. Only a data hold and range hold button.

I know K is Kilo, but is M milli or Mega?

It's not going to be mega so look's like it's bad that's way too high. If you can find a good deal on it then get it there.
