My oil light will come on and off during driving or may stay on. I check and the oil level is good. This has been going on for a couple weeks. The other problem is car overheated due to the part that holds the temp sensor and heater hoses just broke in half. It is mounted on the left side top of engine, did it break for a reason or is it just a poor design?

It broke because of poor design. Ideally you should remove oil sender and test actual oil pressure during 1 of these light on events. You could also just choose to replace sender and see if it solves the issue. It almost sounds as if it may be an electrical issue?
