My wife's lost oil pressure and she drove it 6 miles with no oil pressure. How much damage has been caused to the engine?

If it's ticking hard telling what it is it won't be good however. Fill it with oil as that may be the problem then manually se if there is any pressure if not it's going to be either another engine or crank and bearings at least if nothing else is damaged.

It still depends you have to see once it gets started the ticking can be the lifters due to no oil pressure but should pump back up once pressure is reintroduced. It's a wait and see thing once it's running.

I rechecked as it says for 2004 you have a 3.5L not a 3.8L and it's an overhead cam so if a lifter is gone there it may have wiped the cam out if it continues to tick. But the info I've already given will be sufficient until pump is fixed and engine started and ran a few minutes.
