A couple of weeks ago I drove it and for an hour and parked, then after several hours I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. I had it looked at and found out that the fuel pump was not buzzing. I replaced it, it started and I drove it for a couple days then it died and didn't start again. It cranked but wouldn't start. To get it to start again, I had to spray starter fluid and then was able to drive it home. A couple of days later, while I was idling at a traffic light, it died. The engine cranked but it wouldn't start. I used starter fluid again and got it home. Once I use starter fluid it runs fine, like nothing is wrong with it.

There is no fault code present. I replaced the fuel relay, fuel pressure regulator, ECU, fuel filter and spark plugs but I still have the same issue. What else do I need to replace? The car will start sometimes and sometimes it won't. Sometimes it will start fine without starter fluid and then other times when it randomly shuts off, I have to use it. I was going to replace the crank positioning sensor but since the car starts with starter fluid I think it may have something to do with the fuel. Does anyone know what could be causing this. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Since it starts with starting fluid, I believe it is fuel related. It sounds like the engine control relay needs to be replaced but to be sure when it does not start use this guide to check the relay, the location is below on the left side of the dash near the kick panel.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

2 days ago I came out from work and my car wouldn't start. I called triple a and they said the problem wasn't battery or alternator related. They towed my car to the shop. My car was in the shop all day and the mechanic told me he had no problems starting it. It started all day just fine. I went and picked up my car it started and ran for 2 days without any problems. I went out to start it this morning and it won't start again. It try's to turn over but, won't run. What do you think is wrong?

My wife was driving our Hyundai Accent when it stalled on her and died. upon getting it back home, we checked it out and it sounds like it isn't getting any fuel. The car will attempt to start, it will fire and the ignition will go, but it just doesn't ignite any fuel. We were able to replace the fuel filter, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Could this be an issue of the Fuel Pump or does it sound like something else? Replacing the filter was no problem at $15, but the Pump is about $80+ dollars. So I'd like to know a professional opinion before I drop that kind of cash.

Thanks!

The only way to rule out the fuel pump is to check the fuel pressure if its within specs with a fuel pressure tester.

Power the fuel pump direct from the battery if it comes and produces the correct pressure -problem could be the computer controlled of the relay

The car starts when it wants to, sometimes it will sometimes it won't, starts in 10 min, sometimes it won't, its died 2 times at red lights , 5 min later it starts, it cranks but won't start. Intermittent , no pattern it sits all night won't start, then drives fine for days no problem, come out of store won't start. Replaced relays worked then won't, had it scoped no codes. Changed battery cables and wires , drove fine no problems then again won't start. I was reading the guy had same exact problem said he sprayed starting fluid and it started but since it's fuel injected and no carburetor where did he spray?

He sprayed in the throttle body I would think it would be more likely lack of spark interment. When it won't start check to see if you have spark.

Yes, Definitely check to see if spraying in the throttle body starts the car. If it does not, then check to see if you are getting spark to the spark plugs. If you are getting no injector pulse or spark then I would suspect an intermittent crank position sensor issue or the security system.

Sometimes the car won't start. I don't have a problem once it gets started and it drives with no problem. to get it started I have to put a new 30A fuse in. The fuses don't blow but after a while the car will not start. It doesn't matter whether the car is hot or cold. I have had the battery changed along with the battery cables and have taken it to 4 mechanics. The last mechanic says nothing is wrong with the car. Please help. Today even putting a new fuse did not work.

Are you saying it cranks good but won't start or the starter won't even crank?

Were there any trouble codes? I'd just do the basic tests, like fuel and spark. I'd also put a scanner on it, see what data it showed, key on engine off, if it won't start.

With so many codes I would suggest checking for a poor grounding circuit for a start.

We do not have information for this engine so our help would be limited.
