My fuel gauge is playing up, it is all over the place, it says half full when I know it is quarter or less. Do I need to test something or replace a sender unit & if so how do I do it.

Probably is a faulty sender unit, if its a steel tank, undo the fuel lines and electrical connections at the back of the tank near the diff and remove the 6 screws, the sender will come out, there is a return line in the tank that you have to undo its a bugger to get to and make sure that the tank is near empty or or you will get covered in fuel, this is best done on a hoist.
