2003 GMC Sierra engine dies

My truck dies when turning at low speed, it does this most when cold, but has done it when warm also. Other than a lower than normal gas mileage, it runs fine

Id check the power steering pump. If the fluids dark then flush it out. I recommend BG services flush. If that doesn't fix it then the pump or rack may be binding causing the engine to struggle and die when the wheel is turned
