Check fuses 17 & 35 incentral junctiom block first. You 'll have to have apro test to see if your shift interlock is working or not make sure your foot is on brake when shiffting out of park.

See if your brake lights are working. I had a similar problem and the brake switch had a wire pulled out. Also turn the key to unlock the steering wheel only, then see if you can shift it to neutral. It will start in this position but your brake lights still won't work. ( Very dangerous on the road when others can't tell you're slowing down )
