How long should it take to replace the motor myself on my 2003 explorer 4 wd. I have already purchased the motor. And how do you seperate the motor from the transmission?. What other problem might I run into.

From the way you questioned this it will take you days to do it. You need to unbolt converter and shove back into trans then unbolt bell housing and all other components to remove the motor. If you need it ask arund mechanics with experience that can do this for you. There are special tools you need to unhook a/c and gas lines.
