2003 chrysler town and country 3.8 eingine 125000 miles. Engine dies (like turning off a switch) when running and then the starter will not turn. After a few hours it will start and run normally for a while then same thing happens

Is the check engine light comming on at all? It sounds like the crank sensor, it happens as the sensor heats up, and it sends bad info to the computer, then cools off and all is well.
On 3.8 (L vin code) sensor is on the trans. Bell housing below crossover pipe, firewall
side. I removed the battery and battery tray and the cruise control motor and you
can get to without too much trouble.
