My 2.0 lost rad cap, ran hot briefly, now misfires after about 2 minutes of run time, replaced cam sensor, no change

There is no coolant in the oil and no abundance of steam in the exhaust. starts to misfire before temperature gauge moves, gets progressively worse. vehicle does not overheat

You will need to get a head check done to test for Co in the cooling system, if this is so you will have a head problem, this is a quick and simple chemical test that most work shops can do.

cam sensor has nothing to do with it.
check plugs, coils and do a compression test to verify engine problem.
a leak down test will eliminate a blown head gasket.
