I left my gas cap at the gas station and did not notice it until I got home.
I drove for about thirty miles after I left that gas station. Got home, dinner, slept, then in the morning, when I was going to work, I started up my car, then drove for about maybe one hundred yards, my car just shut off. engine light came on. I tried pressing the gas pedal but nothing worked. I then turned off my engine and tried to start up again but nothing worked. I checked my engine, checked the belts and everything looked fine. I thought it was my battery but I can still honk and lights comes on. I checked around my car and then saw that my car had no gas cap and thought maybe I left it. I bought a new one afterwards but still it does not work. What could it be and how can I go about fixing it?

it sounds like your the gas cap had nothing to do with the car stalling unless you had a big rain overnight which will cause the gas tank to fill with water which goes to the bottom of the tank. It sounds like the crankshaft angle sensor has gone bad causing the engine not to run. Here is a guide to show you what you are in for when doing the job:

Here is how it will be for your car in the diagrams below.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Cheers
