Turn the ignition switch off. What are the symptoms? Do the brakes fail to stop the car? Is the engine idling too fast? Will the car go 35 mph without you touching the gas pedal? Does this only happen when the engine is warm or even when you start it up cold?

Do you have a check engine light? Check the idle air control valve and throtttle position sensor/vacuum leak
