2002 Rover 45 Repair Question

I havent started my car in 8 days and now i try to start it i turn the key and instead of firing up it just beeps quite loudly.
The battery seems fine, as all the lights come on and are not dimmed, and i have petrol. It has 9 months MOT (if that's any relevance)

You could either have a problem with the ignition switch or the starter solenoid. Make sure the big wire going to the starter has power to it and the small wire has power when the key is in the 'Start' position.
